Updated May 16, 2018 11:05pm PDT The New England Patriots have already been locked in a bidding war with a group of teams looking to sign a wide receiver.
One of those teams is the Los Angeles Rams, who could potentially land a big name if they don’t get an offer they can’t refuse.
Free agency is a crazy time, and if the Patriots are looking to keep their star receiver, they may be able to do it.
Free agent WRs: Brandon LaFell The Los Angeles Chargers are the only team the Patriots have been linked to, but they are a team with a new quarterback.
The Chargers are looking for a pass-catcher, so the team could target one of LaFells former teammates, such as tight end Ladarius Green or tight end Hunter Henry.
LaFelell, 27, has been in the league since 2011 and caught 74 passes for 876 yards and four touchdowns in six seasons.
Free Agent WRs Free Agent Tight Ends: Michael Crabtree, O.J. Howard, Antonio Gates, Zach Ertz, Michael Campanaro The New York Giants have a lot of tight ends on their roster.
If they are willing to offer a big money contract to Crabtree or Howard, they could have some serious competition.
The Giants are also in need of a wideout.
They signed wideout Odell Beckham Jr. last year, but the team hasn’t given him much of a shot at a big contract.
If the Giants aren’t willing to match the Patriots offer, they would have to look elsewhere for help.
Free Agency WRs Tight End: Tyler Eifert The Houston Texans are looking at a wide wideout in EifERT, who has caught just one pass in four games for New England this season.
If Eiferton decides to sign elsewhere, he could become a free agent, but there isn’t a lot for Houston to offer in the form of a big deal.
The Texans would also have to part with a few of their young players to bring in a big-time free agent.
Free Agents Tight Ends Players: Brandon Marshall, Jordan Reed, Owen Daniels, Kendall Wright The Carolina Panthers could be a contender for some of the tight ends they could target if they are able to land a free agency deal for their wideout, including a potential trade partner.
Free agents Tyler Eiffert, Owen Diggs, Brandon Marshall and Jordan Reed have all been productive wide receivers for the Patriots.
They could all get deals to come their way.
They are all expected to sign, though, so they would need to find some ways to bring the deal down.
If not, they might be looking for help elsewhere.
Free Signing WRs The Denver Broncos have a slew of tight end options available.
One could be the San Francisco 49ers, who might want to go after a receiver like Austin Hooper, as well.
